(This is community organizing at it's finest.)

There has NEVER been anyone in the White House at any time who has created such an army of staffers whose sole duties are the facilitation of the First Lady's social life. One wonders why she needs so much help, at taxpayer expense, when even Hillary, only had three; Jackie Kennedy one; Laura Bush one; and prior to Mamie Eisenhower social help came from the President's own pocket.

Note: This does not include makeup artist Ingrid Grimes-Miles, 49, and "First Hairstylist" Johnny Wright, 31, both of whom traveled aboard Air Force One to* Europe* .

FRIENDS.....THESE SALARIES ADD UP TO SIX MILLION, THREE HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,364,000)FOR THE 4 YEARS OF OFFICE?????** AND WE ARE IN A RECESSION?????* WELL....MOST OF US ARE.* I GUESS IT'S OK TO SPEND WILDLY WHEN IT'S NOT YOUR OWN MONEY?????

steven - the link has a space in the word index -if you take that out, it's correct.

    Also, according to this link:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv...istsalary.html

Laura Bush had 16 staffers with the words "first lady" in their name in 2008, with a total salary of $1,225,000.

Presumably, since the list for M. Obama includes several people without "First Lady" in their title, Mrs. Bush's would too.

So for apples to apples comparison, I'll note that there are 16 staffers for Mrs. Obama with "First Lady" in their title (I included Susan Sher even though her title doesn't include those words). These 16 staffers have a total of $1,235,200 in salary - about 10,000 dollars, or less than 1%, more than Laura Bush.

Also note that if you line up the job descriptions on the two lists, you realize that nearly all, if not every single one, of Mrs. Obama's "servants" is just a new person in a role that already existed for Laura Bush.

SO......... what's your point again? You copy/pasted from a website that copy/pasted from other websites that all tried to make a point that's equally valid for Laura Bush as it is for Mrs. Obama. Why, then, WEREN'T these points made when Mrs. Bush was first lady?

Everyone wants a posse, lol! No surprise here. It's the norm for bloated government. Our elected filth see no wrong with fleecing the taxpayer. Both parties are corrupt servants of corporate power and greed.

Heh. Nice. You know there's going to be a few here who don't want to hear anything about facts though, right?

At least 8 of those at least split duties, if not work strictly, for the President. The "social director" is NOT someone who works for the First Lady. As the First Lady frequently fills somewhat of a hostess role, the social director and answering staff often work WITH the First Lady, but do not work FOR the First Lady.

But as someone else pointed out, Lacks (and those like him) has little to no desire for context and nuance...the only interest is finding a way to complain about the current administration.
    But your being a dick
