Is Lancaster a tourist destination?

I agree the LIDA should exist but the give-aways to hotels citing "tourism". Is Lancaster really a tourist destination?

It looks like another hotel developer has his handout to the LIDA

What is the actual dollar amount this project will be discounted if the LIDA gives out the discount? I'm pretty sure they get a cut for each discount they give. How much of a cut will they receive if this goes through?

The site listed doesn't no contain "A dilapidated hotel" as described in the request. There is no justifications for claiming it in, on or near being a possible "Tourist attraction"

The Request does not identify the "Principals" behind the project ?

This request notification seems deliberately vague and misleading. Yet its tied to $15Million Dollars ?

What do you mean Amherst? Why would the LIDA be involved with something from Amherst?

Sorry - That is still Lancaster . That's the Boarder of Lancaster. There's been some misleading media information in the past on tv news as to where it was actually going to be built.

Regardless - this tax forgiveness stuff is out of control ! The long term job benefits are minimal.

By letting the LIDA including the Amherst IDA create these deals and skim off the amount it really doesn't help the current property owners.

If we abuse this incentive continually, Erie County will merge all chapters and become one IDA. Personally, I am on the fence with this one.
