From what I saw on Google maps, the nearest occupied home might be across the street but it's not clear that the few buildings across the street from the proposed slaughterhouse are indeed residences or if they are occupied. (http://www.bing.com/maps/default.asp...128&FORM=MIRE1). As you can see, this isn't exactly a residential neighborhood -- and never was.

I bet he's happy just having revenue coming from that property. If it's zoned properly it's his right to do what ever with his property. This is the USA. Are they changing zoning for him to make it happen? That does seem like a lot of live animals. No tax breaks? So this business will be contributing to the community?
