And who cares? They sold their soul to the devil a long time ago which is actually pretty funny considering the platform.

    Conservative Party?

It would appear that the Republican Party in the whole State is dead. They almost nominated the former governor of another state to run?

    Sounds pretty moribund to me.

They're alive -- for now. But if their candidate for governor (he formerly of the Buffalo Control Board) doesn't get 50,000 votes on their line, they, as a political entity, cease to exist for the next 4 years, and do not have an automatic spot on the ballot.

Why are you being so coy about the name. If you are an advocate of the Conservative Party, you must leave no venue without pushing their candidate.

    Even SU.

    Especially SU.

    Who is this mystery person.

I am confused as to who SU is, but the candidate I am referring to is John Faso, the Conservative Party's candidate for Governor.

    Still Amazed

That so few people seem to be in an uproar about this; they'd rather complain about other parties. (To go ultra-paraniod, I'd say it's a plot of the conservative to cause as many disruptions in the other parties that don't share their view,...(say like the democrats and independence.) so they can get back up on top ------Just kidding but with all jokes, it makes you think )

Yes we need more people on this message board of Speak Up to get motivated to look into the corruption of the Conservative Party( as why they have been around so long but have not since at least the '70s that I know of nominated a person soley on its line to run for political office...it just seems to go with what ever one of the major parties backs. You tell me if there is no corruption there and prove it.

You didn't offer any specifics of "corruption."

Also, back around 1994 the Conservatives endorsed and ran Herb London for governor solely on their line. I think the Repub was Pierre Rinfret or somethin like that. Anyway, London almost beat him!!! That would have put the Cons on the #2 line against the Dems, essentially replacing the Reps as the major party in NYS.

The year was 1990, and had London collected more votes than Rinfret (who died last week, by the way), then yes, the Conservatives would have become a "major party" in NYS for at least 4 years, and would have replaced Republicans at county boards of election offices throughout the state.

No one else on here doesn't offer any specifics when i ask for them, so why should I do likewise. However, everybody is all about corruption in the local parties but do not go after the conservatives when they basicall rubber stamp the republican candidate 9 times out of 10 and a democrat 1 out of 1. But no one yells about corruption there. Anyways '94 was a decade ago and they party has been around longer than that although the #3 party has been along since '90 and did have a major candidate twice in that time(remember Galisono(sp) but everyone says the IP doesn't nominate it's own members(pssht)...if you use London as your example, Galisono is mine.

I am going to assume you mean statewide or nationally, because there are probably more dems locally that run with conserv backing.

And if it is statewide or nationally, it is probably because the repubs closer align with the conservative philosophies.

As far as running their own candidiates, with the enrollment differences, it usually doesn't make sense. Like all minor party lines!.. Please don't use the independents and Golisano, that is their 1 to the conservs 1 London.

P.s. Don't the Working Families ALWAYS go with the Dem, like the Liberals used to??

Don't take this as disagreement, as I would love to see more people run on the minor lines, but the numbers make it impractical.
