    Like the wild west

You don't realize how many shootings there are. There ought to be a section in the paper called, "Who was missed". It could list all the attempted shootings in the city. There are a lot I can assure you.

Well, cops don't have to worry about getting shot...their to busy running into stationary objects with their patrol cars putting themselves in the hospital.

According to that sites front page where the link is, there's supposed to be a video to go with the story...it's not there though...I saw it on the news last night...not much to see, just a cop staring at the smashed up police car looking befuddled.

the cop didn't have his seat belt on, that's why he smashed his face,... "injured on duty" that's the name of that tune, good thing he's got the cosmetic rider.

It's interesting isn't it, they moan that going to one man patrol cars puts their safety in jeopardy, but they don't adhere to the law of seat belt usage which would improve their safety.

The longer you look, the more hypocrisy you see.

    Cops are exempt

from seatbelt laws, as well as cell phone laws. He was answering a fight call, swerved to miss a car that didn't see him coming. So he didn't cause anyone harm but himself. Real good Cop. Hope he recovers quickly. Air bag didn't deploy. His head smashed the windshield. His kids birthday party was cancelled because he was in the hospital. Was discharged Sat afternoon. Thanks for the well wishes.

There is a reason that cops dont wear seatbelts.

IT's because they need to prepare to chase after someone, and when that bad guy runs you have to be able to catch up to him as quickly as possible.

Which means that if you have on a seatbelt you are going to be spending all your time trying to take the belt off, instead of chasing bad guys.

Putting a seatbelt on takes what...2 seconds...taking one off takes what...half that much time. Please.

By that thinking, they wouldn't use the snap on their holster.

LOL, Imagine that you have a belt full of tools. Would you want to sit down in your car, or truck and starp yourself in with all those tools digging into your sides?

Not only that but those police cars aren't in the best condition. Im sure that it isnt as easy as you make it sound. Ever try putting on or taking off a seatbelt in a bucket?

    Lay Off The Cops...

THE NEXT TIME you need a police officer in an emergency....let me know if you feel those 2 0r 3 seconds make a difference with you. IN TODAY'S LACK OF RESPECT FOR LIFE..the last thing we need is for us to criticize a cop. yes... they make good money and may even deserve more...but it's a thin line between you and the next thug who may want to cause you ...or your family harm, and we need to support our POLICE in every way possible. THEY may not all be perfect...but then how close to perfection are you????

How many times do police officers acutally show up at the time that the crime is acutally happening versus after the crime has happened?

I would say your arguement fits a fireman far more than a police officer.
