    Lancaster Airport Master Plan

If anyone is interested, this is only a sample of what we found in master plan:

Alternative 2:8-11 DesWl with Full Taxiwav offset 240'j5,500~R!1nwav)
This alternative is depicted in Figure 2-2. This alternative presents a scenario where the airport
is developed to accommodate aircraft with \Vingspans up to 79'. Under this alternative the
parallel taxi\Va} separation is offset 240 feet from the runway centerline. Additional airside
    components include:
., Runway extension of 2300 feet to the east, to overall length of 5,500'
., Pavement overlay of existing runway to increase strength to 45,000 pounds,
    including grooving
    ., Wetland mitigation
    ., Enhanced instrument approach capability
    ., Relocation of PAPIs
., Construct a full length parallel taxiway offset at 240 feet from runway centerline
    ., Land Acquisition (31.5 +/- acres)
    ". Install inadvertent entry fence
    , Obstruction removal (on/off airport)
The terminal area addresses the facility requirement needs for the aircraft. This area
maintains existing facilities and adds additional facilities:

    existing road off Walden Ave
    ". Adding airport signage
". Adding automobile parking (467 SY west end & 1000 SY terminal area)
., Relocating terminal building, t-hangar (east side), fuel farm and beacon,
    including utility relocation
., Support equipment for turbine powered aircraft
., Additional 2,500 SF equipment storage building
Areas q!potential environmental impacts with this alternative include air quality, socioeconomic

    Just wanted to thank

Congressman Chris Lee's office for finally hunting down the 2006 Lancaster Airport's masterplan.

It was quite a task in retrieving a masterplan of a project that meant development over 10 acres of land, house over 59 aircraft, 6 or more corporate jets, helicoptors and much much more.

How unfortunate that the town that acted as the "Lead Agency" did not have the masterplan. We are clearly concerned about the contents of this masterplan that is more than one page. It consists of 73 pages and several pages of letters from various people.

It is worrisome that the enormous project of this magnitude was not brought to the public's attention and awareness. People of Lancaster wake up, take a stand because I do not believe you signed up at approximately 13 million dollars of taxpayer's money to have LearJets flying over your house at low altitude in the uncontrolled airspace.

    Transparency is not apparent here.

    Just out of curiosity,

What is Erie County DPW? Was at the Pavement Bridge by the airport. Ever wonder people what would happen to that bridge to accomodate the expansion?

Is it true you foiled for the airport master plan at Town Hall and they gave you a document that wasn't the airport master plan?

    Actually,

this plan was foiled, they gave someone one page which was a map. They stated that was it as far as the Updated 2006 Masterplan for the Lancaster Airport.

It has come later to light that indeed that was not the plan in its entirety.

They gave someone one page of the plan and said it was the Updated 2006 Master plan for the Lancaster Airport?

What should be first and formost with the airport expansion plan is that residents have to become aware of the size and scope of this project and the impact it will have on the entire community. As KevinL pointed out, at project completion there could be 200 or more planes housed at the Lancaster Airport - some of them single or double engine aircraft with 79 foot wing spans and eight small commuter jets - and that does not include flights coming and leaving the airport from other airports.

    Adding 4 t-hangars (10 bay each)
    Adding 23,000 SY apron
    Adding 59 aircraft tie-downs
Adding 4 aircraft tie-down for business jets
    Removing/relocating west t-hangar
Adding 6 conventional hangars (5,600 SF each)
    Adding 18,000 SF conventional hangar

And the strange thing is that the town never once gave any idea as to the scope and size of the airport expansion at any of the public meetings. I know, I attend them all.

For whatever reason, they only had a few pages, not entire 2006 master plan book when foiled.

If not for Chris Lee's office, we would not have "complete" master plan. I can only assume board did not want residents to see plan for obvious reasons. My question is and remains; how can you review and approve a master plan and not have it in town records? Makes no sense to me. All records should be available for public review at all times.
