    Strange Happening

I have lived in Tonawanda for over 13 years, and we have always had a large crow population (I would wake every morning to a large group screaming at each other in my yard). Now they are all gone!
Whether I like them is not the issue, but where did they all go? There is not one crow around here. Yes, we did find a few dead ones, but did they all die? Did disease wipe them all out? Or did they take up residence somewhere else? Hmm. Anybody have info. on the crows?

They've just moved elsewhere, temporarily. There are many many hanging around Forest Lawn in Buffalo, so I don't think there's been a great disease kill or any such thing.

Earlier this spring, my neighbor asked me if I had seen any dead robins...she and our other neighbor both have picked up at least four full grown dead robins now from just their backyards...remember, robins migrate...made me go hmmmm, first time this has really ever happened to my knowlege, birds are so susceptable.

    hey Tarot Reader ..

I sorta noticed the same thing here on Grand Island.

A few weeks back the crows were busy capetbombing my patio, and now with the cherries ripening on the trees out back, they're not around to devour them before they're ripe for picking. Only saw a few sparrows in the trees today.

Perhaps, this year, the crows are waiting for me to alert them when the cherries are ripe.

Like anything else birds will leave if they find a better source of food or if they feel threatend by something. We had a ton of crows hanging out in South Buffalo a few years back, when we went to garbage totes they moved on. Haven't seen them around here in years.

First time in 3 years they're not eating the cherries off my trees

Maybe the carpetbombing of my patio in early spring was their good-bye gift .. their last hurrah.

they do the same thing rats do . they follow the garbage. if you see less crows it just means your neighborhood is getting better at hiding the garbage from them
One good thing about growing old is your secrets are safe with your friends they can't remember them either
