    Thumbs up

How many council members per population do you have in Lancaster? Are they divided by districts?

    4 Council persons

4 Town Council Person - no wards or district - its called "At large."

This is another little trick that helps them avoid accountability. If you have now ward or district - who do you represent? Who are you accountable to?

Four council members for a town population of approximately 23,000. The Village of Lancaster also has four Trustees for a population of approximately 12,000 residents. The Village of Depew has 4 Trustees for a population of approximately 16,500 residents; of which probably 8,000 live in the Town of Lancaster.

So in actuality you have 15 board members serving about 43,000 town and village residents living in the Township of Lancaster. Ridiculous, eh? And Gaughan is out there petitioning to downsize towns with populations of equal size to three board members.

And you wonder why some of us advocate for village abolishment? Especially those of us who lived in the villages?

    I'm with ya on that.

Any possibility of adding that to the Platform?

Ask the Incumbents if they would support Downsizing?

No matter who made that as a "Platform Issue or Statement" its all the status quo people would need to bury you with.

That would over shadow every/any other valid issue.

Remember Mr.Ward? He said," the Town Supervisors position should be part time." Giza and company seized on that and said things like, "This guy wants to do this part time - he's not willing to work full time - he thinks this job is a joke"or was it this joke is a job? I forget!

Giza even said he'd "Pay Mr.Wards expenses if he dropped out of the Supervisors race"(Quoted in the Bufnews).

Anyway , Get the incumbents to state their views on this issue - then you can have a fair and balanced debate.

Supervisor Giza, Councilmen Ruffino, D.Stempniak nor John Abraham would ever agree to sponsor a "Town Board Downsizing Amendment or referendum"

I challenge residents (and Mr.Abraham's Political Students) to ask them - I challenge each and every incumbent running for re-election to state their position on Downsizing.

The best any incumbent would say is, "Well if the people want it - we would be open to discuss it."

Working mans translation= "We will do every thing in our power to make sure it wont reach a referendum, but in public, we would discuss the possible impacts"
