NEW YORK -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo wasn't the one in custody on Thursday. But the arrest of powerful New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver could spell plenty of trouble for his fellow Democrat.

The state's chief executive will face tough questions over his handling of corruption in the legislature. Perhaps more worryingly, he's been sent a sharp reminder that U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara may be looking into why Cuomo killed an investigation into just the sort of double-dealing that Silver stands accused of.

The corruption is everywhere in politics. To be caught and arrested means he sure was extra corrupt. If found guilty Jail the bastard. Also why so many democrats are listed as under investigation as compared to reps? Are the reps just better at being corrupt or are the dems just stupid at being corrupt? Sheldon's corruption was way before Andrew, but did Andrew know?

If he didn't know but then knew once the Moreland Commission got started he should not have stopped the group. Just shows you he'll cover for his social club at the expense of us property/business owners.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention. George Maziarz is under investigation and so is Pat Gallivan.

the problem is that way too many politicians have sold their souls to property/business owners when they should be looking out for the best interest of voters instead.

Property and business owners are voters too and entitled to representation. And if elected offiicials' duty is to voters then they owe their duty to less than half the adult population.
