Has anyone used the website gofundme?

I know someone who is in bad shape health wise and money wise.

One issue he has is that his dryer broke. An older 110 volt that he used to dry the socks he puts on his stump before he places his foot attachment on including drying his clothes. He has a washer but it is difficult for him to carry wet clothes to the laundromat to dry.

There is no gas hookup or 220 volt line. Just 110/120 where the old dryer is.

I looked up a few and came up with something like:

    GE Spacemaker DSKP333ECWW

24" Portable Electric Dryer with 3.6 cu. ft. Capacity, 3 Cycles, 3 Heat Selections, Rotary Controls and 120 Volt Circuit Requirement

    $582

    or

    Avanti D1101IS

24" Portable Electric Dryer with 9 lbs. Capacity, Stainless Steel Drum, Auto Dry/Timed Dry Settings and Air Dry Anti-Wrinkle Option

    $319

I'm figuring the $582 model because of the larger capacity.

Think a site like go fundme along with the need could raise $582 bucks?

Doesn't matter the platform, just have to get the message out via social media or email.

He passed away 6 months ago or so. Had a heart attacked while at dialysis. Sad how his life ended up. He actually tried to work even though his body was pretty much shot. I have seen people get disability for issues far less than he had and they have every excuse not to try to even get a part time job. I saw the situation he was in. For the life of me can't not understand why we have groups in Erie County who work on bringing more and more needy people from over seas here instead of helping those that are already here in need. Here is what it is. Follow the money. Many of these groups receive federal funding to do what they do. No refugees no paychecks.

Craigslist could have solved that dryer problem for 200 bucks
Let me articulate this for you:

Craigslist didn't have a dryer that was 110/120 volt at the time and there wasn't a gas line near where the dryer would have gone.

Maybe not but regardless, there are FB pages for every city where people are selling everything you can think of, etc.

Not a working 110/120 volt electric dryer at the time we were looking. He didn't have 220 volt or a gas line within 20 feet of where the old dryer was. The hot water tank was in spot where there was no room for a dryer and there was only a small gas stand alone heater in a living room. Any extra money he made on the side he used to keep his vehicle running so he could get to kidney treatment 3 times a week. It was a sad situation.
