West Seneca teacher charged in sex abuse, endangerment

A West Seneca East Middle School teacher was arrested Friday on charges of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Jasper "Jay" Rizzo, 56, of Heather Hill Drive was suspended immediately after his arrest, West Seneca Superintendent James K. Brotz said.
School officials placed a second adult in Rizzo's class during the investigation.

Rizzo was arraigned Friday in West Seneca Town Court on two charges of second degree sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was released on his own recognizance and is to appear in court again May 26, West Seneca Police said.
Police and the superintendent declined to say if the alleged offenses occurred in or out of school, although a letter mailed to parents Friday said the investigation focused on "teacher impropriety."

I had him as a teacher about 16 years ago. Not a bad guy from what i can remember.

He'll most likely retire with a full pension before the full investigation is complete. The ought to handle this like a dishonorable discharge from the military. You screw up, and you lose your pension completely.

Yeah like the politicians and Unions would let a rule like that happen. They seem to want as little accountability as humanly possible.

I went to East, and while his name is familiar, I can't remember anything about him. Will have to dig out the yearbook.
