    Highway Department Dianne Benchcowski

So after watching WIVB last night starring Frank Max im kinda curious as to what Councilwoman Benchcowski will now do with Mark Wegner? I could not believe my ears that Mark Wegner admitted to letting his employees take home town equipment for their own personal use? Hopefully Dianne will now go to the Fed's about Mark Wegner and his Deputy and request a formal investigation into the "admitted" inappropriate use of taxpayer/towned owned equipment by him and his employess!

I'm sure there are enough anti-Wegner people inn the Town who can do that if they please to do so.

Diane doesn't need to do so to justify turning in Max. And her failure to do so doesn't change the facts about Max. Either he did or he didn't cheat the taxpayer. That determination needs to be made based on the evidence, not the motive of the one blowing the whistle.

    What equipment was taken home?

Was this equipment used on town time or on personal time. I'm not a fan with equipment being used on the side but I don't think that cost us property/business owners money as does padding one's hours or doing non-town work on town time.

I believe Angela wanted to pass a resolution that a party chairman can not work for us. Time to put that up for a vote again. There should be no problem getting a responsible board member to second it. Same goes at the county level. I wonder if Ted Morton could get the ball rolling on that.

Are you kidding me res you don't think it cost the taxpayers ??? What about the wear and tear on the equipment. How if the equipment breaks when the employee is using for a purpose which it's not intended for?? How if the employee gets hurt while using town equipment outside of work ???? What about the workers using sick time to go to fundraisers ....sick time really that's what that's intended for I'm sure cuz it happens all the time at my work lol

I think you have personal vendetta against max and you think fish fry mark can't do nothing wrong

I have room agree with go bills the town is liable for that equipment if something happens where someone gets hurt or property damage us tax payers have to pay. Let's see of Dianne gets her head out of fish fries mark butt and investigates this.

"lending out" town equipment for personal use by employees (or town residents for that matter) exposes the town to potential liability for bizillions of dollars. Imagine if a town employee using a town backhoe strikes a gas line causing and explosion, killing several people and leveling several homes. Ya think the town employees homeowner's policy is going to be enough to satisfy the claimants?

Moreover, and employee is in no better standing to use town equipment than a taxpayer. what if I wanted to borrow some equipment for the weekend? how would I go about getting permission for that?

And since when is sick time available for personal use days? I realize it is difficult to police the misuse of sick time, but when the head of the department is personally aware that an employee is mis-using sick time, it is time for some heads to roll rather than heads to be turned the other way.

What do you think Diane should do with Jim Rogowski's cousin John Jarowjewski who runs the park department? It has been said he has been lending out equipment to the town employees for years.

Why would some of our good employees make something like that up?

Sorry Westy - your again believing Politicians are judged or held accountable like normal citizens !

They are not - they even have tax funded insurance that pays for their bad acts. They receive free tax funded legal services all provided by the home owners.

Lancaster has had to change insurance companies a few time because they (insurance companies) got tired of paying off on claims.

Tax payers have no true recourse mainly because until recently they were kept completely in the dark. The Politicians use excuses like - "There's a legal action so we cant discuss it" - "Its a personal matter, we cant divulge the out come" - they misuse the laws.

What Politician wants to fight against a system that some day could be used to protect them ? They are like Lawyers, Doctors and Law Enforcement - they believe its them against us when it comes to lawsuits or legal accountability.

As I was told once - the Town(Government) has lawyers to protect the Town from lawsuits - not to protect residents ! That's the truth most people don't understand.

Why do you think their "Party Lawyers - who usually become Party Judges"
#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !

Go back a number of years and you have fish fry mark taking town equipment out of this area for his own personal use when he was just a worker. Then the goof ball put the truck in a ditch full of dirt what happened to him how much did it cost the town to clean up that mess? Now he is the boss I think its time for a change for that position.
God must love stupid people; He made so many
