Since you're just pasting the same videos Fox News has been playing, could you at least point out that one is from 2003 and one is present day? Or are people not allowed to have their opinions change? My feeling is that while deep down Obama might think a single-payer system is best, he realized at some point that it wasn't feasible but still thought there was room for change.

    Well said.

If Obama is saying both things today, during our CURRENT discussion of Health Care, then I can understand a discussion regarding what he's saying. But he's not - and this is dishonest of you, ILovedNY, to imply that he is.

I trust people who are able to change their minds given new facts, and more research, over people who make up their minds with 5 minutes of information and never change regardless of the facts.

or he sees it as Barney Frank does, his current position is the best path to his first - hmmmm... that would be my deduction. So Brandon in light of this you still calling ILovedNY dishonest?

I'm sorry - I haven't followed anything that Barney Frank has said recently. Would you try to explain what you're talking about?

He said that a public option is the best path to a single payer system.

That very well could be Barney Frank's opinion. I'm certain that many people supporting the 'government option' want to expand this in the future - but it doesn't mean all people do.

If I support that dogs should be on a leash in my neighborhood. Does this necessarily mean that I support the idea that cats should be too? No.

For some people, getting dogs on leashes is the first step to putting cats on leashes.

For other people, they actually just want what they are saying.

Brandon that is exactly what Mr. Obama advocates then and now, the tone is just different.

I'm willing to change my stance if I hear facts against what I've been led to believe.

    1. I want healthcare available to everyone.
    2. I don't want my healthcare costs to go up - I want them to go down.
    3. I don't necessarily care for a choice. As long as what I need, and think I'll need in the future is covered, along with my doctors, I'm happy.

If the Obama plan is something different, then I might be against it. But, so far - what I've heard from reliable sources (i.e. not fox news, and conservative radio show liars) bears what I want.

By what i heard today from a ranking DEM senator in MD, they're not trying to cut cost for all of "us" just slow the cost increases as he said on CNN.

Healthcare IS available to everyone right now. All they have to do is go to the ER and they must be treated.

    1. It is already available for everyone. Buy it if you want it. I want everyone to have a house and a car. Does that mean the government should provide it?
We have the right to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. Since when has the word PURSUIT been removed?

    2. Who doesn't want lower costs. I want gas prices to go down. Does that mean the government should tax people and then provide cheaper gas?

    3. You don't want a choice. Others do. "As long as what I need, and think I'll need"..... this plan doesn't care about your needs. When you buy a car you pick your options to suit your need. Do you think the government should make these decisions too?

Will you still be happy with mandated coverage that doesn't suit your particular needs? Brandon is just one small person in this nation. You will most likely have to make do with less coverage than you currently have, and higher taxes to pay for it. With no options or controls. Why do people want to give up their freedom of choice for some 'free cheese'?
