Dear Editor,
It is time that Cheektowaga's Supervisor and members of the Town Council enter into serious discussion with the owners and operators of Buffalo Crushed Stone in order to redirect all Quarry traffic to Broadway and Indian Road
The continual problem of heavy construction trucks driving down Como Park Blvd. to and from Buffalo Crushed Stone Quarry has long been a festering problem to the residents of this area! Residents have endured the problems caused by this type of truck traffic while government entities and private business promised change.
Meanwhile truck traffic over the years has increased in volume and size. Many of the trucks are capable carrying loads up to forty tons all the while dropping stone along the biking paths , creating a hazard for both bikers and walkers.
The trucks spew out clouds of diesel and asphalt fumes defeating Cheektowaga's healthy Rails to Trails Program.
Residents along Como Park Blvd. and surrounding streets must live with their windows closed to keep out the constant noise of heavy truck traffic, dirt, dust and fumes from diesel engines , and hot steaming asphalt loads.
As years went by many articles in the Buffalo News e.g. Entrance to quarry could be moved from
Bellevue , News from the Easter Suburbs,June 15,2001 .called for the re-routing of quarry traffic to Broadway.
Over the past years provisions were made by the NYSDT to widen India bothn road entrance at Broadway as well as creating the infrastructure for a future traffic control light.
Yet, here we are 13 later years listening to the noise, inhaling the noxious fumes , unable to safely use the biking route along Como Park Blvd
Once again it is time to act - this time let's make a change for the good . Re-route the Quarry traffic Now !

Why not a class action lawsuit - it be aimed at the Towns Government for failing to act on tax payers behalf and the Stone Quarry for health and safety issues. I am also sure anyone who has suffered a chipped or broken car window - the insurance companies would have that type info.
Large corporations and Government wont care until they see a court action. The politicians get campaign funds and tax income from the quarry - the quarry makes money from developers and Politicians granting developments.
#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !
Where is the path in relation to the current driveway for the quarry?Meanwhile truck traffic over the years has increased in volume and size. Many of the trucks are capable carrying loads up to forty tons all the while dropping stone along the biking paths , creating a hazard for both bikers and walkers.

One part of Indian that was resurfaced came out very well but if you drive further down it gets really crappy.
