Here is what I would have done differently if I was going to spend money on postage.

I would have had a website link on the mailer with more information on our town website about the proposals. Or at least a sentence or two about the proposal.

This way property owners could decide if the proposal might effect their quality of life.

Expansion: the reason the mailer is deceptive is expansion of the quarry is not a popular idea.

Why would the expansion be a bad idea? I know neighbors in the past said they felt vibrations when they blast but I have never felt any. Mind you I am down the road from them.

If it was me sending that mailing out...

We would have a before photo and a possible after photo of what ever the proposal could be on the town website.

And idea how far they want to expand?

They sort of fixed Indian Rd. One section near the state building came out nice. I don't know what happened further down. It is almost like they just used shovel, threw asphalt down and rolled it. Seems lumpy and I think when it's plowed it gonna scrape the high spots.

QUARRY EXPANSION — Residents had the opportunity to express their concerns over the proposed expansion plans of the Buffalo Crushed Stone quarry at a meeting. Buffalo Crushed Stone wants to mine the isthmus, a 39-acre parcel between the east and west quarries, and would move its rock-crushing plant and blacktop plants from the isthmus 150 feet down into the east quarry basin. Once the mining of the 39-acre parcel is completed in 10 to 20 years, the quarry would be reclaimed as one large lake.

Why not use it as a landfill?

Same reason you have to ask permission to build a shed on your property. You don't actually own your property.
