right on. another ZERO just like the rest. I love when this guy is on the news, he is fixing everything. politicians should not be speaking @ a teaparty.

He was invited by the coordinator, Allen Coniglio. I had no problem with it. He has proposed eliminating authorities and having a constitutional convention. He has fought Silver and paid a price for it.

We need converts to the cause. This is how movements grow, not die.

I guess that means the wind is blowing in our direction.

As for taking advice from anonymous people with no known expertise in the subject at hand, that would be dumb, don't you think?

Seriously, what expertise do you have in building a political movement to shrink government?

I know of no one who succeeded in such an endeavor since 1800-1804.

Currently anyone here has as much experience as anyone else in shrinking government because so far I haven't seen it happen. Removing a few people from town boards will not save us anything that adds up.

Mark S was in full force with Jim Keane during the last County Exec election pushing pro labor against the evil business class. Currently I would say the word is "opportunist". Same as Shelly being there. What resolutions has she pushed to cut cost/government employment in Amherst since she's been elected? Only one I that didn't phase me was Dennis D being there.

Why hasn't shroder done anything about the parks, particulary hilary park with broken equipment and it not even being closed off to the public. SMH!! I and other people i know have called about it over the past few years. Nothing.
I like what shroder has done about some other things, but this business with our local parks needs to be taken care of.

"Currently anyone here has as much experience as anyone else in shrinking government because so far I haven't seen it happen."

Well, the first thing you need is a vision of an alternative.

That was accomplished in November of 2004.

    http://freenewyork.org/plan.html

The next thing that needed to be done was to produce specific proposals for real change.

That was done in the last three years. See the policy reports and news alerts here.

    http://freenewyork.org

The next step proved to be nearly impossible, getting people elected who will push real change.

The fact that candidates and public officials want to come to our rallies suggests that they sense public opinion has moved in our direction. So, we should tell these people to go to hell?

I don't see the strategic or tactical wisdom of that.

Now, I'm a cynic on using conventional politics as a means of change.

That's why I developed a 12 point plan for direct citizen action.

I'm only one guy doing this on a shoestring. Wish I could do more.

I think based on the increase of people on from the tea parties that it will do more. It's success depends on getting the population to polls to get these status quo clowns out of office.

In responding to the thread...I think it was good that Mark was there for the reasons that you pointed out. Unfortunately the perfect politician or office holder is not there.. you can find fault with anyone.. but at least getting some of these folks to the rally's is a good thing

People critical of them should attend to see what it is really about..

Fact of the matter is..... you can post or you can do, some do both.
