Shouldn't be. What reason could there be? Someone enlighten us.

Judges "serve" dt their leisure, especially if they don't care if they're re-elected. I don't believe there's a judge above him to force him into work, on a county, state, or federal level. His "bosses" are the Cheektowaga citizens. If he's ill, I pray he gets better or that it's not serious...

As much as I am happy that Delano had an obsession to see justice in several cold cases, the people of Cheektowaga made a mistake in electing this man to the bench. We do need controversial "buck the system" people on the bench.

Doesn't make a difference whether he cares or not. What matters is what is our town board doing about it.

I'm surprised there is a position in our town that you don't have to show up for work and still get paid. Now if this is health related I'm assuming there is sick leave and/or vacation days. There is no reason why the town can not get an answer to when duties will be resumed. Have to plan and move on.

Or it sort of says previous leadership weren't thinking when it came to judges clocking in.

there isn't anything the town board can do about it.

We don't allow town boards to influence judge's decisions by giving them control the judge's pay.

Once elected an elected official must be paid until the term is up. The only way to be rid of an elected official is if they are convicted of a crime (Charlie Markel). Just another ridiculous NYS law. There are no recall elections in this state!
