Left in the dark on Island

The gulf station in the center of our town, grand island blvd and whitehaven has been closed now for quite some time.A lot of Islanders used this station for the attendant pumped the gas for you. This station has been closed now all summer and still closed. Does anyone know why or what happened? Seems lately us Islanders are left in the dark as to many things going on on the Island. What is progress of the housing development to be built south of tops and east of baseline? Why are there so many businesses leaving the largest plaza on the Island? It just seems lately,last few years we are left in the dark. Maybe the Island reporter of the Dispatch could help keep us up to date.Any thoughts?

Rumor has it that the gas station was closed due to the state buying the property for they want to install another roundabout at that intersection.Then after that another roundabout at baseline and Blvd. Wonder if anyone else has heard this.
