Buffalo ranked 2nd best city to relocate to in America

Of course Buffalo is a great city to relocate to—any Queen City native could have told you that.

In a list published by CNBC.com, Buffalo was ranked the 2nd best city to relocate to in America. Not bad out of the thousands of cities people could have chosen throughout the entire country.

According to CNBC.com, “Buffalo is an older, industrial city that has “gone through a sort of gut-wrenching transition into the 21st Century and now that it’s gotten over the bumps, it’s a great place to live.”

The story went on to describe Buffalo’s growing art scene and affordability—the cost of living here is 14.4 percent below the national average. In terms of real estate, the story also described the average home price is at $119,700, well below the national average of $171,700.

With unemployment at 8.3 percent, currently below the national average, health care and education were also listed at the area’s fastest growing industries.

The complete list of cities is as follows:
    1. Pittsburgh, Pa.
    2. Buffalo, N.Y.
    3. Omaha, NE/Council Bluffs, Iowa
    4. Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas
    5. Austin-Round Rock, Texas
    6. Des Moines-West Des Moines, Iowa
    7. Madison, Wis.
    8. Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minn.
    9. Denver-Aurora, Colo.
    10. Indianapolis-Carmel, Ind.

Obviously Buffalo is a cool place to live. We’re all here, aren’t we?

Ya wouldn't know from all the "sky is falling" that gets posted on this forum.

It's one thing to point out matters that could be better or should be corrected. It's a whole nother thing to claim that generations of WNYe's have turned the place into a social and economic brownfield as some like to do.

Could only imagine how great this area would be with better management. We have some awesome beauty, great natural areas, great history, cheap (potentially) energy and much more. We rank second with many mistakes made by leadership. Too much welfare for business, too much picking winners and loosers. One could only dream of what we really could become (once again) with proper management and concessions made by those who know they are part of the problem.

These lists are a dime a dozen and are really nothing more than click bait. Proof of that is how everyone in Buffalo seems to be passing around the same link and saying 'look at us'....
If you look at the others cities on the list, they all have the same thing in common. They are smaller metro areas where if you can find a good job, the quality of life is very high. Nobody would deny that being the case for Buffalo.

Still trying to imagine this area under good management. It would be great! I love Western NY!

We had good management for a vaporized moment while Chris Collins was CE, but, he was called arrogant and demonized by the buffalo news for tax-saving cuts, and after their endorsed candidate won, they then went on to write a nice piece about Collins' "good fiscal management"!!!

I am sure we agree on many things, if we could only find a way to remove emotional responses. 8-)
