Lol...now Carl wants to run again...didn't he learn anything from the Vietnam war?

Want to defeat Andrew Cuomo? Then convince Carl to stay on the school board where he can make losing motion after losing motion.

I don't know why Carl would waste the community's time by running as a spoiler. Really makes no sense. Wouldn't the time best be spent focusing on winning as many local seats instead? Focus on cutting property taxes and/or focusing some revenue into infrastructure maintenance instead of labor contract cost increases?

Ego. I've always thought Carl was in it not for any agenda but rather just to massage his ego. That and he likes a big audience when he rips into someone. I don't think he gives a damn about his overall agenda as long as his ego is satisfied.

Remember, this is a rural area - farms and green space. People were stock piling 22 caliber ammunition - I asked why ? They said its the most common bullet they use - for everything from rodents to small game. Their greatest fear is government restrictions increasing - yet fear of attention by same forces them to quietly purchase ammo.

One vendor told us that fear of speaking freely hampered sales and purchases. The vendors were afraid of the attendee's, because you never knew if they were law enforcement or just customers.

A big topic of the day was a dodge van in the parking lot. It was parked there earlier Saturday morning. It had blacked out windows and the rear doors faced the building entrance. None of the vendors or show operators seemed to recognize it and there it sat all day.

So just how does all this help our "Crime Rate" - how does instilling "Fear of Government" within rural America relate to reducing our "Crime Rate" ? ?

Its truly sad to sit and listen to our Veterans, farmers and legal gun owners exchange stories of mistrust and frustration over freedoms lost ! God Bless America .
Of course militarizing our police departments, the DHS buying Millions and millions of hollowpoint ammunition, expanding and increasing the government security apparatus, NSA, etc does nothing to quell such beliefs.

Does make you wonder why though. Are we really under threat of being invaded like you see in Red Dawn movies?

Hitler, Stalin, Mao, could only dream of thus sort of surveillance.

When you trade liberty for security, you deserve neither. And as the Boston bombings ostensibly prove, the 'security' doesn't work.

Almost every American has been duped into a personal tracking device and willingly pays for it. Which has pin point accuracy...the ability to remotely take pics, video and record all nearby sound....

This device? Called a cell phone. And as of 2006, all new phones were 'required' by federal law to have a GPS chip which could NOT be turned off by the user.... Another example of how the govt uses the 'to keep you safe' mentality...

Now street lights that record conversations, wifi nets that record and store MAC addresses of any and all wifi capable devices, wether wifi is enabled or not.

Real time tracking of browser history, every phone call, text ever sent or received, stored forever, including location data.

Snail mail, outside of every package is recorded.

Now cars that record your GPS coordinates to be downloaded when you get your car 'inspected'

    Easy pass data.
All your medical records being put online for 'your' safety.
The govt can search your home siege your stuff, and well, you have no recourse....

In new Mexico it's becoming common practice to conduct multiple anal probes to search for drugs...

It's becoming a habit of police shooting family pets during routine patrol.
It's becoming habit for police to resort to lethal force if you don't bow down and kiss their feet.

Tell me, why do local police need MRAPs? A 15ton land mine resistant 4wd tank? For what?

Martial law, dry run in Boston for a fatally injured teenager with a hand gun, the police enacted martial law, suspended the constitution, and conducted house to house searches in direct violation of the constitution...'home owners' forced out of their own homes at gun point for simply not allowing the police to enter....

The need for the extremely vulnerable zero encryption 'enhanced drivers license' that can be read using a scanner bought on eBay for $50!

Instead of encrypting your info, the govt offers this tin foil sleeve....

Traffic cameras are everywhere, yet the people who paid for them, tax payers, arnt allowed to veiw the live feeds.

The nsa's new multi BILLION dollar spy center in Utah that will record ALL communications digital and analogue, forever. And store it, for ever.

    But you can't see it.

TSA at airports.... The underwear bomber was led thruogh security by the US State Department!

Passengers are now being trained to 'freeze' on command.

The list goes on and on and on...

    Where does it stop?

Before facsimiles and email, your mailman knew everything about you there was to know. He knew what banks you did business with, who you worked for, your profession, your church, your doctors, where your relatives lived, and on and on just from the return addresses on the envelopes he delivered to your house.

Tom and friends provided for the US Postal Service in the Constitution just so they could keep tabs on everyone. It's part of our national heritage.

    Nogods,

There is a SLIGHT difference with your postman seeing what is delivered into your mail box versus what the NSA is up to.

Yeah, the difference is the NSA is collecting billions of pieces of information and then searching through it for specific information if the need arises. It will never look at 99% of what it has collected

Your mailman goes home every night and tells his wife everything he learned about you that day, like the fact hat you got a letter from the bishop and your copy of Hustler magazine on the same day.

Does the postal worker than have the authority to judge you - disrupt your life and family ? Does that postal worker decide who you should agree with and punish you if he himself disagrees with your friends?

You are a lawyer - a confirmed Dem follower - you live off and protect the system - you have to agree with it. Your doing a fine job !

    >"Fear of Government" seemed to be the overall discussion at the Springville gun show.

Not fear. Defense from power. And it should be the overall discussion of all commoners.

    > Among the hottest selling items were bumper stickers and Repeal Safe Act signs.

And Freedom t-shirts. All after ammo and guns.

    > Everyone was talking about Government and the intrusive Gov. Cuomo. Everyone should talk about government. And monetary theory, history, power,...

Fear? I did not witness the emotion of fear at the Springville gun show.

Stares and mistrust? I didn't see those greetings and noticing.

    > One of the next part of Gov. Cuomo's plan is tracking ammo purchases. How does that curb crime - its just driving up prices and fear.

Need to stand down on all the fear stuff, it's like a TV.

    > Remember, this is a rural area - farms and green space. People were stock piling 22 caliber ammunition - I asked why ? Wholly mackeral. Two more fears located in sector B12. Send out Tech 52 to investigate.

Forces them to quietly purchase ammo? Forces? Where on earth have you learned your reporting/review/journalist skills? People are buying ammo like they always do. Pay for the item and leave with it as a happy camper.

    > One vendor told us that fear of speaking freely hampered sales and purchases. The vendors were afraid of the attendee's, because you never knew if they were law enforcement or just customers.

The vendors aren't afraid of the attendees. For heavens sake, I have to pass this thread to some of the vendors from the show. They have to read your op-ed. Are you the tall guy with the cream overcoat and hat?

    > A big topic of the day was a dodge van in the parking lot. It was parked there earlier Saturday morning. It had blacked out windows and the rear doors faced the building entrance. None of the vendors or show operators seemed to recognize it and there it sat all day.

You sure about that big topic of the day? The blue van belongs to a vendor who is a Vietnam Vet. Know him well. That van has some nice woodwork in it for his weekend sleeping quarters. I believe Walter did the work for him. I was vending at the Springville show too. Did you come up and talk to me? No one wanted to give you any info on the van.

    > So just how does all this help our "Crime Rate" - how does instilling "Fear of Government" within rural America relate to reducing our "Crime Rate" ? ?

    How does all what help?

Nobody is instilling fear of government in rural America. People everywhere are asking questions. Inquiring people are figuring out that something's overall wrong.

Crime rate has to do with self-esteem, environment, responsibility, morality, values, character,... And of course, the biggy and a basic reality; humanity has to accept that there are people in the world that kill, rape, burglar, are negligent, and do bad things. Why? Because humans are human.

    > Its truly sad to sit and listen to our Veterans, farmers and legal gun owners exchange stories of mistrust and frustration over freedoms lost ! God Bless America .

You believe it is sad that people discuss about freedoms lost. It is suggested to get the nose to the grindstone and start studying. You are way behind. Unless. You believe in the powerful pushing the common man down. They only need us mainly to tax us. You and I, and all the commoners have the most in common. You just haven't broke free yet from the "re-education away from freedom" that has been played on us.

Wouldn't he first have to be able to break free from this nonsense: "God Bless America"

People who can't overcome the fear of an invisible man in the skuy watching everything they do have no hope of dealing rationally with the real world.
