NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK – Police were searching for a suspect in a stabbing Monday night on Ferry Avenue.

The victim, an unidentified 37-year-old Niagara Falls man, was stabbed in the left side of the chest following an argument over a can of spray paint, which escalated into a physical fight, according to police.

The two men went outside and began to fight at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Ferry Avenue and while they were on the ground the suspect pulled out a hunting knife and stabbed the victim in the chest and then left the scene. The victim covered the wound with his shirt and walked to a hospital for treatment.

The victim went to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and then was transported in critical condition to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.
