Ill be there, will you?
I went. No one was there.
I just got home. Stopped by my moms house on the way home. No one was there, it was a joke, spoke in the hall way to a couple people though and got some really GOOD info from an old guy about MY assessment.
I just wonder who this "old guy" was that you spoke to and what type of background he may have in this field. Also based on some of my visits to TB meetings, many of the same individuals attend these meetings, with some of them being characterized as part of the "lunatic fringe".
All these people rallying for the government and its taxing ways,, until somebody loses and eye and has to pay more taxes!! Strangely now they are silent.
God I love it !!
This morning on WBEN I heard County Director of Real Property Tax Services Joseph L. Maciejewski giving his lesson on (according to the intro by Susan Rose) "Assessments 101".
Wow!
If this guy is supposed to be the "guru" everyone goes to for an explanation it's no wonder there's so much confusion.
This guy did not know that the TOA has not assessed in almost 3 yrs? Is he not the one who is responsible for the wrong county tax levy throughout the area?
Yes, I do believe he has a hand in the "equalization rates". But my point is that his alleged explanation of the relationship between changes in assessment and its (presumed) effect on taxes just plain sucked out loud.
Listen to the WBEN Maciejewski interview here, wherein his mouth seems to begin overtaking his brain at about the 2:20 mark.
Incidentally TOA Assessor Harry Williams' explanation later in the program was factually accurate, while unnecessarily convoluted.
