Did everyone check this out in the paper about West Seneca?

    Saturday September 17 2005 section D1

Looks like they are having the tax assessor looked into. Might of been giving extra tax breaks to local developers. Nothing is proven but he has resigned.

I wonder if you resign but they find you guilty do you still get your pension and coverage for the rest of your life.

Looks like the guy worked there since 1970 which makes it 35 years.... Anyone know anything thing about this?

You just don't get it. You excuse that perhaps he could of been in cahoots with developers giving them discounts? Maybe he hasn't but they are looking into it. And if he did over the years play favortism why should he be allowed to get away with it.

You think it's ok if any government employee that can just make it till retirement time be exempt from any wrong doing just because they made it till the retirement date?

OH and I didn't bring this up the Buffalo News did Mr Cheektowaga Fan.

Perhaps he did absolutely nothing wrong so no harm.... he gets his retirement and all. BUT lets say he gave away $500,000 in accessments every year for the last 10 years. It adds up Mr Cheektowaga fan.

You see nothing wrong with that?

And over priced computers? When was the last time you were "forced" to cover the cost of a computer from anyone including myself? Only in govermemt are you force to pay too much for services needed. Only in government is accountibility thrown out the door.

    Yours truely,

    Tony

PS. How are the dolphins swiming in the ocean on your beach in NC?

Stupid post from a bitter man who brags that he's made enough money working for the Town of Cheektowaga, that he's now living in an oceanfront home in the Carolinas.

The assessor is being investigated by the FBI. Innocent till proven guilty, of course. Lets's see what happens.

To even compare this to the price of products that a business owner charges for products/services is just plain stupid!!!

Why is it that WNYer's give our elected officials and local/county employees a pass when they break the law or show favoritism to special interests? The special interests in this area are not large corporations in most cases. They tend to be some local individual with a connection to someone in office.
We as taxpayers have been robbed, cheated and grafted for years.
The reluctance to persue charges agianst officials is not only astonishing but criminal in and of itself.
