I'm gonna see how poultry poop works this time around

This year I started a bunch lettuce seeds in a 72 pocket tray along with some tomatoes

I used good potting soil and kept them watered.

As an experiment i'm going to use some 6" square pots. I wanted smaller pots but this is all the store had. They were 80 cents each and will last many growing cycles.

The instructions say 1 tablespoon for a 10" pot.

To be on the safe side I'm going to use 1 teaspoon because the pots are smaller.

8 pots will have this added and the other 8 will just be fox farm potting soil..

    This group is just soil

This group has 1 teaspoon per pot. I put the price sticker from the bag on the tray so I know which tray has fertilizer.

Each tray will be given the same amount of water and light..

I want to see if the product makes a difference.

I added some of the fertilizer to a 1/3 of the tomato seedlings and want to see if it helps...

    Now we just wait....

Ah crap! I'm so far behind on my gardens now. I had to build a raised bed for my tomatoes this year. I got too many Walnut trees around. :-P

    4 pounds was $4.99

If you want to use it in the garden they recommend 1 pound per 10 square feet.

Someone told me miracle grow isn't good to use because it is chemical based. I'll have to look that up.

Over all I think this worked the best except I had to mix it up each time I watered the bins.

I don't know if there is a visible difference.

I didn't plant as much this year....

Lettuce seems to be coming along quite well

I started 10 seeds once a week for the last few weeks. This way the lettuce was growing to full size at different times.

More than enough lettuce to have for lunch.

This year I used one bin for tomatoes

The other bin for Cucumbers. The cucumber plants should be able to climb up the cage as they grow.

Both bins will be fed with General Hydroponic nutrients when watering.

One thing I have noticed is lettuce grows just as well under plant lighting as it does in the sunshine
