LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Things are heating up over the closing of a fire hall in Lackawanna. This comes after the mayor announced that in less than one month, firefighters racked up more than 800 hours of overtime the city can’t afford.

Come one you know the games the fire department plays in the cities... it is a crying shame.

No. I think the most action the firefighters see in Lackawanna is visiting the two senior housing complexes and helping with falls or stove fires. Though they do seem busy. The fire station on South Park near Martin is dispatching trucks all the time.

Fire House 2 was closed down after the mayor discovered 856 hours of overtime over the last two-week pay period. He says until shifts can be covered without requiring overtime, it will remain closed.
How many people added up the 856 hours over a two week pay period?

WNY you always ask the most reasonable questions. Most of the time many of us cannot answer you because we can't get any straight answers ourselves.

The fire station on Abbott is also dispatching all the time due to car accidents on Abbott/Ridge Rd. area.
