I've lived in Lackawanna for almost 6 years now. I've been a homeowner since June 2006. Unfortunately, I'm still not all that aware of what goes on. My family is not from Lackawanna. I just happened to be renting here and then also just happened to buy a house here. I can't say I'm unhappy. I love my street, I love the Southtowns (I consider my area part of that). I'm not happy with what I've been reading about the corruption in city hall. I hope this will be a place to discuss such things, and learn more about what goes on.

    Thumbs up Youth Executive position

SOunds good. Let's get started. Do we need a Youth Department Executive? Eventhough he's a part time but I think he's position must be elliminated and the Department if Rec. can do his job.

What's he getting paid for? Nothing's available for youth in Lackawanna.

    Nothing and no.
No one actually chooses to live there.

    new in Lackawanna

Are you kidding me? A lawyer got businessman of the year? I agree with you, I can think of MANY small businesses that should have gotten the award! Also remember that our City loves to go after the "non-homestead" business owners for taxes each year! Pretty soon all Lackawanna will have are lawyers...is this latest award a look into the future???? What a slap in the face for our business people!

Wait. There is a reason to go to Lackawanna. I almost forgot. Way better than Dairy Queen.

The address says Blasdell, but believe me when I tell you it's in Lackawanna.

A Dairy Queen is just the scientific name for a cow.
