Anyone who actually cares about the kids in our community has to release the test.

Friday may have proved the ultimate challenge for John B. King Jr.

The state education commissioner found himself thrust before a grouchy convention of statewide teachers in Buffalo, where local union members are locked in an acrid dispute over proposals for teacher evaluations.

Not only did New York State United Teachers members from across the state blast King and state plans to implement teacher evaluations on criteria that include attendance, the commissioner could only stand by as approximately 60 Buffalo teachers walked out of the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center in protest.

The kids are not a test score.

If it for the kids as they say.... Send a copy of the pineapple test to the public/Buffalo News. Let successful people review the BS they are testing the kids with. We already know there is incompetence in the system why hide it. $32 million to create a test? How much is going to be refunded to the net tax payers for delivering a bad product?

And? So what harm would come from that? You still have to know the topic at hand to pass the test.

Or how about this. Release the test and have non-political non-connected successful group of people review it. I don't want to hear "We have a study group that reviews these items". Well apparently the "pineapple team" did a bang up job on this one.

I'd like to hear from other teachers from other countries what they would think of the "pineapple" question along with other questions on that test.

Are these tests the same in every state or is this a NYS thing?

Ron Paul 2012. I believe he wants to abolish the federal educational department.

You probably want this page here...

    http://www.nysedregents.org/elementary.html

I went and looked at the 3rd grade ELA, some of the choices were just plain ridiculous...

It's really not funny or joke. 10000's of kids are taught items that won't benefit them in adulthood. Or, tested and penalized because of one groups incompetence. I'm curious, did the company that produced these test lose the account yet?

Are the people who made the 2011 test also the same people who made the test in 2009?

Sharpen the No. 2. It’s time for a test.

Q: What happens when the Department of Education tries to get creative on a statewide eighth-grade English exam?

So far I've only seen one singular odd question mentioned (which I really do find funny). And it's on an English test... a subject that teaches about fiction and creativity. So I guess I don't see where the incompetence is yet. Maybe it was an inappropriate question for a standardized test but from the little I've heard so far I'm chalking it up to over-reaction.

BTW - how much % was the pineapple question worth towards the total test score? Has anyone read the whole test?

Go read the examples of these test. What is wrong with the test we took when we were kids? I don't think 32 million were spent to create them.
