Congress' Job Approval Can Be Counted On One Hand

5% Think Congress Doing a Good Job: New Low

Just when you think the numbers couldn’t get any worse for Congress, the end of session debacle over the payroll tax extension comes along and drives perceptions of Congress even lower.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just five percent (5%) of Likely Voters rate the job Congress is doing as good or excellent. Sixty-eight percent (68%) view Congress’ job performance as poor. Source
How come the nation's opinion about Congress is so high?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No one is entitled to their own facts.

For the results they deliver we should demand salary cuts and benefit cuts. Real ones... Without any punishment there will never be a reason for congress to take the non-laborer/non-government business owners best interest into consideration. Remember anything signed into law with a pen can be written out of law with a .49 cent Bic pen.

If anyone knows Brian Higgins ask him if one day he can justify his salary and benefits we pay him. He can submit his justification the Buffalo News and we can all decide if he or others in congress are worth what we pay them. Sound fair enough?

More than fair...way past time to get back to the basics of public service, where representing the best interests of the people was more important than a "what's in it for me attitude". Don't get me wrong, "just" compensation is fair for anyone who aspires to hold elective office.

You get a chance to reduce his pay to zero every 2 years. So far it appears a majority of your fellow citizens don't agree with your assessment.
