Integrity Party rattles Republicans & Democrats

How interesting to see Republican County Chair Jim Domagelski join bohunk Dale Volker in his lawsuit attempt to deep-six the formation of the Integrity Party.

They and the Democrats have every right to be fearful of the new party because if it remains a valid party, as it most likely appears will happen, there are a lot of dissatisfied Republicans and Democrats and unaffiliated (blanks) who would be very interested in joining this new party.

Konst is going to kick Volker’s ass without new party recognition. But if Volker’s lawsuit is unsuccessful, the Dems have as much to worry about. That is why Konst’s own Democratic Party hierarchy is not supporting her and why town of Lancaster Supervisor Giza has a Volker sign on his lawn.

No disrespect to Democratic incumbent councilman John Abraham, but had the Integrity Party already been in place early in the year, he would have been toast. Residents have been waiting for a viable candidate from an organized party to challenge and remove a member from the one party town / planning / zoning boards.

No disrespect to Republican challenger Marianne Scime either, but Volker, Domagelski, BOE Commissioner Mohr and your disorganized, underfunded party leave you no choice but to distance yourself from these bozos and give specifics on your platform:

    • 1. The need and reasons to rebuild bipartisan town, planning and zoning boards
    • 2. The need to provide checks and balances
    • 3. To balance needed infrastructure
    • 4. To cut spending waste (police building, vacant library, Tahoe purchase) and lower taxes
    • 5. To protect the environment

We need to hear more than just sound bytes! At least the 25% of us Lancaster blanks do!

She didnt create a new party. She created a line on the ballot. Two totally different things. For a party to exist on the ballot in NYS you need to receive so many votes in the Gubernatorial election. I cant remember how many, maybe 50,000?

Anyways, you wont see this line on the ballot next year unless someone circulates petitions to create it again. It is just like the Taxpayers First line that Collins and some of the County Legislature candidates created last year.

Good point, didn't know that. However, it is my understanding that the future intent is to start a new party! Need some help here to clarify this!

I found this on www.integrityparty.com but it must have been from 2006. Since they reference the election for governor. it looks like 50,000 is correct.

    LOCAL NYS CHAIRS:
The newly formed Integrity Party is currently looking for volunteers to serve as regional chairs throughout the State. Your party affiliation does not matter, and you will not be asked to change parties in order to help our independent cause. The Integrity Party is quickly becoming a true third party in New York State, running populist candidates who believe in ballot access, equal rights, protecting the working class and the environment and proactively helping those in need. We are made up of members of all five state political parties and independents. Contact Integrity@TwinForks.com or 631-747-1672 to bring Integrity to your region. If the party gets 15,000 signatures and 50,000 votes for governor this fall, we become "official" -- that means you'll have incredible power in the next four years to bring about real change in your region. But we need your help now to get there. Organize our petition drive in your county.

    READ ABOUT THE INTEGRITY PARTY:
A nonpartisan party may sound like an oxymoron, but that’s exactly the kind of third party that a group of activists in Riverhead are trying to form. Rather than allowing the party to veer off toward the ideological extremes as third parties often do--think the Greens on the left and Conservatives on the right--Integrity Party organizers want to create an alternative that welcomes all political stripes and looks for common ground.

“It’s a coalition effort,” says Darren Johnson, one of the party’s founders. “We have Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Conservatives, blanks and Working Families Party members. We have decided to put aside our ideological differences on issues like abortion and gun control and come together for the working man.”

    FOR CANDIDATES:
Exercising your democratic right is often a thankless task, but the public needs good people to run to help keep our system honest. I wish more people shared your initiative. We have formed a new independent party in this county and state that brings a coalition of people together with the hope of preserving this democratic right and to help maverick candidates during this era where the status quo seems as strong as ever.

    Who We Endorse:
The Integrity Party seeks to back candidates who want to win, but especially candidates who:
    • Have a strong message of putting reform over partisanship.
    • Want to be involved with a coalition effort and marketing campaign.
    • Want to send a message to voters that they share an independent vision.
    • Are looking for a first or multiple "line" on the ballot.
    • Or simply deserve to have the word "Integrity" next to their name on the ballot.
    How to Reach Us

Call chief organizer Darren Johnson at 631-747-1672 or, better, e-mail vote@integrityparty.com.

What concerns me about this "Integrity Party" website is that it seems to be a Suffolk County thing. I don't think we need another NYC-LI based Party in this State.
