    Some questions I have are:

How did we go from this large deficit the Supervisor was talking about earlier this summer to him being able to propose a tentative budget with a slight tax decrease for next year?

How far off are the amounts in the tentative budget from the requests of the department heads?

What are the reasons for the difference and how were the amounts in the budget arrived at?

Does this budget take into account the possibility of lower than anticipated sales tax revenue and state aid?

I was wondering the same thing. Unanticipated health insurance boost, unanticipated ice rink repair, unanticipated legal expenses and the budget is still in the black. Some fuzzy math going on, or the previous administration wasn't as bad as everyone was lead to believe.

Tonight was the public hearing on the town budget. No budget was adopted and it was adjourned to Monday at the regularly scheduled TB meeting. There was a lot of requests for changes in the format of the budget as presented in order for the publi to compare the proposed budget with the prior and current years as budgeted and actual expenditures/revenues.

The former town attorney Mr. Greenan was present and gave a lot of information on the Americorps/Youth bureau and its interrelation to the town and the grants.

There were questions on whether or not some items were not budgeted reasonable in relation to the requests of the departments.

Lastly, as expected, niether Mr. Gaughan or his followers were there or remained silent despite their so called concern for the cost of government.

    Town Board Meeting

Don't forget tomorrow night is the Town Board meeting. There will be a work session at 7 before the meeting when they will go over the budget and make some decisions on spending. So everyone should come out and see how our wonderful town board decides what to do.

Your sarcasm is getting to be a little lame. You got anything new for us? If not take the night off and come back when you have something new to report.

They need to keep the PEER program and do something about the youth programs like hockey. The more the kids have to do the better for the Town as a whole.

I heard we are going to get 2 new ice rinks in town. I also read in the paper today about East Aurora's new ice rink on Riley Street. I'm excited to try it out this winter. I love to skate.

Your nephew is a hockey player? I hate hockey. Why should my tax dollars go to a hockey rink when they can not go towards a park in town? Just looking at the town directory
    http://www.westseneca.net/director.html
and noticed that the Burchfield is not listed at all, not even under town attractions.
I guess West Seneca is what it is.

Understand that East Aurora's ice rink is not tax supported.
