Lightbulb More on water around the world

Water Mafias" put stranglehold on public water supply. Worldwide corruption driven by mafia-like organizations throughout water industries is forcing the poor to pay more for basic drinking water and sanitation services, according to a new report. National Geographic News

Human waste used by 200 million farmers, study says. Facing water shortages and escalating fertilizer costs, farmers in developing countries are using raw sewage to irrigate and fertilize nearly 49 million acres (20 million hectares) of cropland, according to a new report—and it may not be a bad thing. Very True

Very true, but don't some people pay more per gallion of water than gas? Water rights can be really bad. When I lived out west it was wild! I know once the water supply in the corn and wheat belts run out they will eye the Great Lakes again. They will probably try to do what they did to the Colorado River with diverting it to LA via the long concrete aqueduct. This is the concrete aqueduct they film all those movies in, Terminator 2, etc.

The Colorado River at Yuma used to be a giant river, now it's a little trickle of water. How unfortunate! This is just the beginning. If they do this to the Great Lakes, sell you beach front property because it will become the suburbs. Buy some land currently under lake water because it will be the new beach front property! Who knows what level the new lake levels will/could be? I don't want to know. All Great Lake shore cities like Detroit, Buffalo, Chicago, Cleveland, etc. will suffer.

    Exclamation Politics and water

During this election season, we must ask all the canidates what they will do to protect our fresh water supply as well as promote and fund the old muicipal waste/water/sewer infastructure.

They better not make "backroom" deals with other states that need it (other countries), to get that money. Anyone who does, will be exposed. We are watching you!

They won't want any of the water from around New York State. Albany will claim the water rights and tax it so high that no one will be able to afford it.

However, they will offer to send them a Seneca Indian shaman to perform a rain dance, that will be tax free.
