    You should have conceded your time to the opposition. The "it's not the state's money" reasoning fell through the floor.

    It's not the state's money after it has been given away to private concerns.

    But it is still the state's expenditure even after the private concern has used it to pay their CEO.

    My point was that the attorneys (both of them) for the opposition did such a poor job that Jim should have just stepped up to the mic and said "Thank you, in light of what I just witnessed, I think my client's would be best served by letting the opposition continue their idiotic rambling, so I'll concede my time to them" and then sat down.

    There's more than one definition of winning. I was urging the court to write a decision that will bind the trial court if we win.
