The East Aurora School District is putting the finishing touches on a $26.74 million budget, calling for spending to increase by 3.28 percent and a projected tax rate increase of 2.8 percent.
The latest budget numbers for the 2008-09 spending plan were largely favored by the School Board earlier this month. The board plans to adopt a budget when it meets Wednesday night, though funding for adding field hockey and co-ed track at the modified level still is being discussed.
Superintendent James C. Bodziak noted that the latest budget projections whittled the spending increase to 3.28 percent from an earlier projected increase of 3.61 percent at the board’s March 19 meeting.
