I watched WGRZ last night breathlessly report that murder in the Queen city was cut in half in comparison to 2006. Sadly they didn't challenge the Brown administration when they made that claim.

I recall back in 2006 that this city was suffering from a string of gang and drug related retaliation murders. If I remember correctly, the administration argued that it would be unfair to claim the crime rate was on the rise since the number of incidents was likely a one time event.

So if the numbers were so irregular back in 2006, why are they allowed to be used for comparison? Why are we congratulating the Brown administration and his croneys for the murder rate receding to "normal?"

Did anybody else find that segment lacking in reporting? It seems like they could have asked a bunch of other questions like what the number of shootings is and how that compares to previous years, or violent crime in general.
