Am I mistaken, or didn't 97 Rock bail on the ball drop last year? I remember it was in danger of being cancelled, then some business people raised some $ at the last minute.

They had to call it the Buffalo Ball Drop last year, but they still promoted the event on the 97 website.

Must've found the funds for it this year to stick their name back on. Or was that even the issue?

I went downtown for the Ball Drop many years ago...I froze my tail off and that was the last one..

Actually, it looks like it's still being called the "Buffalo Ball Drop" but still promoted on 97, so same as last year. All I know is Dick Clark wont be in Times Square this year and it just wont be the same.
