The primary agrument (explanation) for the world could simply be, "We helped make your bombs and you gave nothing back so now screw you!"
Money always comes before the health and welfare of innocent civilians;Only "weaklings" and "snitches" want to "do the right thing" and make amends to the uninformed, the helpless, the victims.

obscene government and corporate greed (with the cooperation of the media to lie to the public)
    have been a "given"
    and
    PROVEN
    for decades
Only now, the Bush Administration has basically said
    "F what Americans think"
    and
has been the most OPENLY corporate-friendly
    government in MODERN HISTORY

    No spin on Katrina will
explain how land developers were discussing purchasing large tracts in New Orleans with government DURING and AFTER the storm

No spin can possibly explain how over one million American jobs have been outsourced to save corporations money

And no spin or BS is acceptable as to the number of dying and dead from "hidden" D.U. and toxic waste sites:
By the 1960's to early 1970's the corporations who dumped this waste MUST have known about the effects of radiation on mammals;Human beings.

    In other words:
Thousands, perhaps hundreds-of-thousands of needless agonies;Deaths could have been prevented if even SOME of the corporations responsible for dumping D.U. were proactive, helped the sick and diseased simultaneously evacuating (populated) dumping sites, cleaning them up and making them safe, once again.

But that would have cost an obscene amount of money. Lots.
Although since these corporations were working FOR the Federal government,
then the government could have footed most of the bill to pay for the relocation of those living on
    and
near D.U. sites, pay medical and death benefits to those directly affected by D.U. (and toxic waste)
    and
dump all the radioactive soil in government-sanctioned areas.

And I'm being a total idealist here while making a number of assumptions.

The ONLY true bottom line" is:

    Profit
    BEFORE
    People

If our corporate-government apathy over undisclosed D.U. sites
    and
civillian disease and deaths do not speak volumes of how LITTLE our government truly cares about us,
then we, as a people have learned NOTHING.

"Now enough talk bout' radiation stuff!
Let these good Amurican people get back to work and put food
    on their famalies!"
Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys.

    Have to disagree with this....

Only now, the Bush Administration has basically said
    "F what Americans think"
Bush isnt the only administration that didnt/doesnt care.

    Remember:
    Republicans = Socialists
    Democrats = Communists
Neither system works because they lack Liberty and Independence.

    Amen to that!

PS: Isn't it nice that a certain person can't come on here and post his phony/fraudulent crap?

    Man, those are beautiful ideas.

    Only thing is
at this stage in our "democracy," we seem to be in
    "selfishness to Apathy" stage
with PART of our society in the
    "Apathy to Dependence" stage
"Dependence to Bondage" is clearly on the horizon
ALL the "laws" are in place to set Bush (or whover's President at the time) as dictator in case of a vaguely-defined national crisis.

But Depleted Uranium and toxic waste dumping is just PART of the picture of citizen abuse:

All of a sudden, its "big news" that our beef supply is more dangerous than we possibly thought when Monsanto & pals have been pumping cows full of Bovine Growth Hormone, antibiotics while these poor animals have been wallowing in their own filth,
    much like our leaders

All these scumbuckets (corporations) have lobbyists coming out of their @ss
and even if some "revolutionary" lobby reform bill is passed
the bribes and trips and hookers and checks will continue, unabated, just nice an' quiet, thanks to a very cooperative media.

I should get off my lazy @ss and do a bit of research on the early stages of American democracy, any corporate crimes and how they were handled; Also direct and indirect hazards to the populace and how fast and effectively they were dealt with by our government.

    I mean, for God's sake!
Blackwater was supposed to get booted out of Iraq, but they're still there, doing business as usual.
    Ah, yes.
The American version of the SS or Gestapo, Blackwater, U.S.A.

I'm "all over the place" because I realize that the United States has actually reached "the point of no return" and that the good people who DO want peaceful change and accountability (for the guilty) will continue to go silent in the joke we call the "mainstream media"

Y'all with patience might want to read "Nemesis" which basically says that the U.S. is ready to fall,
    just like Rome did.

And I'll repeat it until I get Carpal Tunnel Wrist Syndrome and BEYOND that:

The U.S. is not "watched over by God."
We could EASILY become a fascist state.
The checks and balances that were put into place by our forefathers have been over-riden and its just a matter of "when" and "how" everything goes to S

    It CAN happen here.

    Simple! Declare war on infantilism,

    and......

Euthanasia for murderers, rapists, and second offense robbers.

Sterilization for first offense robbers, adulterers, and child neglectors (redefine what child neglect actually is).

Bring back testosterone activities in schools, communities, and in homes.

Shun the religious minded who insist that faith is not deception.

Abolish "liscensing and registration" for motor vehicles and firearms.

Abolish all drug and alcohol prohibition.

Abolish the ATF, IRS, FDA, etc.

The thing is, "democracy" IS the problem!
Democracy is the beginning of Socialism because it "mandates" social equality by taking from those who work and give to those who dont really want to work.

A republic is a people who work as equals.

This looks like a cross between Totalitarianism and Social Anarchism. Who would decide where to draw the line between the two? What do we do with the already established government system?

Been following this for a while now

I have a few comments to make on this thread about the Manhattan Project and more questions than answers.

Someone wrote saying that "It was how our families put food on the table and it was perfectly legal at the time."

Not everyone's family made their living in these SECRET industries or now make any money from these businesses yet, many are living near or on top of the end result (wastes).

As for the legality "at the time," let me ask this: HOW is something that remained as SECRET for so long made legal? Is there a statute that can be shown for the time frame? I've read an aweful lot on the subject and would have to disagree. Many of the disposal practices were done in complete contradiction to the laws, even for the times. Another point is this: If these things were "legal" as stated then why after 60 or more years did the government finally decide that these workers were in need of compensation for health problems and fatal diseases?

As I understand it, the dangers of certain of these materials were known during the Manhattan Project and even before for things like uranium (which was a big part of the activities here). Look up the mines and miners in Checkloslovakia a couple hundred years ago. Certainly the menace was known by 1940s.

As for the genuine "fear" or not that should be paid to this subject, all anyone need do is look at the disease rates of WNY, infant mortality and other health statistics (see recent revealed as supressed CDC report) to see that there is a genuine problem that should actually be feared.

WNY has been decimated by the scenario that still plays out in a very big part of things like economic and other exodus, health care costs, local insurance and other service costs etc.

Downplaying a very real problem with these things will never make them go away.

No offense meant to anyone or their feelings.
