Seriously, this organization checks on the old people at least once daily during the week when they deliver the meals to the shut ins. I would say that for those who don't have any other support (relatives), they would be the 1st line of response. There is a paid staff at MOW, but the meals are delivered free by volunteers. The meals cost $3 each, and most are happy to have them.
