Was an attempt to better compete with Wegmans and Walmart. It didn't work because they failed to deliver competetive prices and the services did not compare to Wegmans. Martins was still Tops with a different name-- both run by the same morons who did nothing but drive shoppers to Wegmans and Walmart.

the Tops international got a nice face lift when they changed it to Martins
what was really lame was not accepting the tops bonus card (they eventually changed that)
