Occasionally, it goes back to electric power for a minute or two, then goes dim again.
What would this be an indication of?
If you don't hear from me for a while, you'll know why.

i'm being ravaged by a spyware thingy.....internet speed monitor....no clue how to get rid of it....
I went onto a computer MB and someone said
Does that mean the entire motherboard is shot? Because I just spent over $400 to replace it last year. Its a sign that the motherboard power circuits are probably broken.
It's also possible, and more probable, that the pin where the AC power plugs in is broken.
That happened to my Dell.
Of course when that happens, your battery won't charge.

Right where the AC power cord plugs in.It's actually pretty common, especially if you move your machine around alot.

That little brass pin is pretty delicate and if you move your laptop around alot while it's pluggeds in, it wears on the pin

Not too mention, mother boards are pretty durable.
They don't just "break" unless you drop something on it.
Hell, I've dropped my laptop before and it was fine, and then I dropped a toolbox on my old Toshiba and it was screwed.

Thanks Hip, I'll look for it. I don't want to move it now, because its suddenly taking power again. It comes and goes. (goes much more than it comes).
....just went again!
That right there tells me that it's exactly what the problem is. You move the chord a bit and the pin makes contact again.Originally Posted by therising
