If I'm not mistaken, if ML worked soley for Americorps he would not be entitled to a NYS retirement.Originally Posted by Psycho1

Exactly! With the NYS Retirement System, the Town (read taxpayers) is contributing to a part of his pension. If he has been a part of the system more than 10 yrs., he does not contribute at all. He would have the option of starting his own 401K, or maybe join the federal retirement system. Either way, he could run AC, and the town could save money with the merger of the two positions I've mentioned.Originally Posted by CSense

Funny thing is, I have been a member of this forum for almost three years. Most of those in this discussion seem to have been members about a month. It is only a coincidence I came upon this discussion. Less than 70 posts in three years is not serious activity.Originally Posted by The Jokester
I have a business and residence in WS. My wife has in the past been active with the Birchfield Park. The money line of who owns/paid for what and who pays who is probably not understood by those here, only presumed. Bottomline is the park was built which is the greatest improvement to the town of WS in the last 50 years. More could and should be done. Previous to this the centennial pool was built in 1976. In this case accomplishments talk, and BS walks.Originally Posted by The Jokester

Wanting to know the "who, what, where, when, and why" in regards to our tax dollars is exactly what I would want from fellow residents.
Can you confirm or deny that Mark's daughter used the tax payers vehicle and damaged it? That in and of itself may not be a big deal (perhaps allowing a dependant to drive the vehicle is permitted), but it's still something I'd like an answer to.

There have been a few of us who have decided to join because of the Clark debacle. Then we see other things on the sight. Why don't you run a search in AC? then you'll see this has been a point of contention for quite a while, and so has your angel, Lazzara.

"paranoia runs deep, into your mind it will creep"
Lazzara seems to have at his disposal the opportunity to spend unbelievably large amounts of money for contracting of work from private companies, supplies, vehicles and who knows what else. Is this done through competetive bidding or can he simply pick and choose at his own discretion ? I do not know anything about grants. Who applies or writes them up ? What is a "grant underwriter" ? Is this something that can be of a financial gain for someone ? I think spending and distribution of finances in these large sums is something that should be overseen by more than one person or persons of his choosing. Is there a board of advisers ? If so, who ? Who oversees Lazzara ?
Can any of these questions be answered ?
Did I ask too many questions ?
