So how much truth is there that a lot of our tax money goes down state.
Plus I read somewhere that the profits from the niagara dam here goes to offset loses downstate.
WHY not make the people down state PAY a higher rate and leave the cost here lower? Give a people to stay here and grow there business. It seems we are subsidizing other parts of the state.
In all fairness, the massive niagara power project was paid for by the taxpayers of NYS (all of them, even those Long Islanders) and they should reap the benefits of their investment.
It would make more sense to talk about making NYC pay for it's own subway that you and I don't use, rather than trying to cheat the citizens of NYS of thier investment returns.
And, just where do you "draw the line"? Batavia? Rochester?

I acutally didn't know NYS as a whole paid for the Dam, now I do.
So basically all of NYS pays the same rate from the dam? or do some areas get major discounts while we pay the highest rates?
