    2500 registered members

Looks like williamsville07 is the 2500th registered person. I remove the accounts which are spammers so for the most part the 2500 are actual people not spam bots.

And how many of those actually post???? The number is quite meaningless when you think about it. Look all the accounts that are on AOL. MSN, and other portals that do not get used....

Now what are the stats for those who post, and the frequency of posting?

How many of the members actually have posted??

I don't know those stats. I think you can look at the membership list and look at post counts.

Yokes should be able to confirm this if he saved my link to the stats..

    The forums alone:

    Jul 2007 22718

    Aug 2007 16900

That is unique IP visitors for the messageboards alone. 22,718 unique IPs for July and 16,900 for august in the SUMMER when most people are not parked in front of thier computer.

Aol and dial users rotate through a pool of IPs, and cable usually use the same IP while thier modems stay on all month. THAT"S A LOT OF PEOPLE.

THAT's just the messageboard. That doesn't include the sites that use our content like onlinebuffalo, speakupwny front page etc.. There's easily another 12,000 or more unique IPs visiting those pages monthly.

We are in the middle of upgrading our fiber coming into our building. Once that is completed I'm going upgrade Vbull and move a few things around.

It's not really how many post, it's how many read.

I can add that of the registered members. ~40% have logged on in the last 30 days, impossible to tell if members checked in but didnt log in.

According to the member list 1100 or so have posted

Speakup gives any group the opportunity to be heard if they take advantage of it. I don't mean for a competing website to come and spam the board to grab traffic, I mean a legit community group.

Now just because a group has the opportunity doesn't mean people are going to warm up to it. Haven't you all noticed that when we do our get togeathers I basically invite anyone and everyone? Any group can attend and bs with the attendees. I can't help it if people don't take advantage of it or if people don't like them

Lastly I'm tired of hearing things like "speakup is dis-respectful" or "Speakup just attacks people". All speakup is, is a messageboard. An open window to the community we live in. It's the community who is attacks various comments not the "messageboard".

Show me one other locally ran website that has as much "political community" activity as these messagebaords have.
