Two former highway workers accused of wide-ranging abuses
The two former Erie County highway employees indicted Tuesday stand accused of everything from stealing county-owned commercial mowers and high-loader tires to using a bulldozer rented at county expense to spruce up a highway supervisor's private properties.
In one instance, a supervisor was accused of using such a bulldozer to develop his business interests in Elma and Orchard Park, among other abuses.
In another instance, a county worker was accused of stealing county tires worth several thousand dollars and selling them through a classified ad in a newspaper.
Douglas H. Naylon and Daniel M. Sutton both have pleaded not guilty to the accusations and are expected to return to court in early September for a pretrial hearing.

Here's a question. If this happened (remember your innocent until proved guilty) how did people miss it? Do other employees turn a blind eye to this? SOmeone mentioned a few employees were released for bringing this to light. I would like to know why the higher ups didn't look into what the employees were saying about this matter.
