    Quaker capitalism..

If more companies had this attitude wouldn't need unions. I think Wegman's to some extent has a quaker capitalism system going. They benefit their workers and communities but still turn up a profit.

    'Quaker Capitalism'

Like many other major English chocolate firms, Cadbury was a Quaker family enterprise and one whose business aims were fused with idealism, a concept Cadbury calls "Quaker capitalism." For companies like Cadbury, the point of having a business wasn't to make a lot of money and then become a philanthropist. The goal was to benefit others right from the start.

"As soon as they were able," Cadbury says, "they were doing things like raising the wages of their workforce, introducing Saturdays off, introducing pensions, introducing unemployment benefits and sickness benefits, and even free doctors, free dentists and vitamin pills for staff."
I have a question for pro union folks..

Do you think with a system like this a union would be needed?

    Anti union folks..

Do you see a problem with a system like this?

    Nope.

I used to work at a company that paid at or above industry standards and had benefits (especially health insurace) somewhat above the standard. The only time organizing was discussed was in jest. When raises and bonuses were not given for a few years and the quality in health coverage significantly decreased, such conversation quietly but gradually became more serious. No idea where it is now...

party look it up.. Look up the cadbury chocolate company. They basically put almost all their profits into their community and treated all employees as partners. Did they have some questionable practices? yes, for one they did not treat women fairly, a women was fired once she had kids. The company eventually wanted to keep up with the ever changing market and changed their ways completly though.
