What If I Want To Vote For A Real Person?

You have options!

Who says that the two party system knows whose best for Governor, Lt. Governor, Senator, City Council, Dog Catcher, and Sewage Commissioner? What do they know that you don't know? Okay, so if not the party nominees, then who?

There are many people who are qualified for elective office who would probably serve if elected. How about the clergy person at your house of worship? A teacher your child has at school? Write them in!

Maybe you know someone who volunteers for a local community, business or civic association, and has a keen grasp on the issues that affect your community. Write them in!

Maybe you know someone who is professionally retired, and doesn't need the job (wouldn't that be refreshing?) Write them in!

Or maybe... You!

Yes, you!

"The best way to get your leadership to listen is to become your leadership," says our Treasurer, Barb. The recent success of PACleanSweep showed that when voters stop complaining and actually run for office against their elected officials, they get real action. And this can happen again (that's what democracy is all about, right?) It can happen in your hometown, your county, or in a statewide revolution!

Writing in your name (and asking your friends, relatives, and neighbors to do the same) could be the start of something big! Besides, you'd rather be passing laws instead of complaining about them, wouldn't you? Of course you would!
