My SOn got a job working for a local business delivering ice when he graduated from CDL school. He is 19 and green big time. He found this place on Craigslist, They worked him like a DOG he was there every morning at 8 AM and would work until 9-11 PM 6 nights a week, he was supposed to be paid time and a half for overtime wich would have made his paychecks pretty juicy. He wanted to save up alot of money for a new car and a trip he planss every Summer.. He worked for this place for 5 weeks and every single week he got paid for exactly 47 hours of work when he was working upwards of 70 hours or more. When he would go to his boss, he would get every excuse imaginable... "oh we'll fix that in your next check"... then the next week nothing was fixed on top of being screwed out of even more hours.. Then it got to the point of them saying he wasnt punching the clock correctly so thats why he was shorted money. It was one big BS story after another. As his Mom I called the Labor board and reported it , so they sent out a big form that has to be filledout and sent in with all your proof... all he had was his pay stubs, because the time clock was a palm print scanner so there were no paper time cards.
He is young and learned a big lesson , i told him to leave there, and he is now working for a legitamate place. he makes a little less and doesnt get much overtime but at least he gets paid for the work he does. Hard lesson learned but a necessary one so I am told in the trucking and transportation industry.
So much for craigslist, i guess you got to be careful of the kinds of employers who post there.

Yes, exactly. Some of these companies are fly by night, not legitimate places. Always do you research first!

You think the misspelling of "wharehouse" was intentional???

Cleaning and packing? There's some kinky stuff going on at that "wharehouse".
Most of all I like bulldozers and dirt

I am the best cut - and - paste - er of audio material in town.
I will charge less than any one else. guaranteed.

There seem to be a lot of job postings on Craigslist lately that must be scams because they indicate ridiculously high pay for run of the mill office jobs, etc. What do you think? Hmmmmm?

Yeah, REALLY? Very, very few jobs pay 35 dollars an hour in Buffalo, NY. WHERE do you see ANY kind of basic "no experience" office worker earning that much? I worry about these postings because I feel sorry for the people who take these things seriously and fall for apparent scam artists!
