The activity does not disappear on evenings and weekends, it shifts to other parts of the city. Ever been to Chippewa on a Saturday night? Or the waterfront on a Saturday afternoon? Or Elmwood on a Tuesday night? Just because you don't know where the action is doesn't mean it's not here.

He was speaking of Downtown. Outside of Chippewa, not much happens Downtown at night...at least in relation to the number of blocks that could be considered downtown.

There is potential for this...but it is going to take a while.

Many cities that are more successful than Buffalo also have very quiet financial/govt districts after business hours. What difference does it make that Allentown is not specifically "downtown" while Chippewa is? The two areas are only a few blocks away from each other. Sending a "death blow" to downtown is not going to limit the damage to downtown, it will hurt the entire city and the entire metro.

I was not saying it as bad thing. Just a matter of record.

I think once more 'connective tissue' is created, Downtown will expand.
