M&T Bank Corp. ranks 23rd on a list of U.S. banking companies with the most employees.
The $56.37 billion-asset Buffalo-based company had 12,814 full-time equivalent employees as of Sept. 30, 2006, which was up .4 percent from the previous year.
Others with Western New York operations on the list published by American Banker include Citigroup Inc. (first), Bank of America Corp. (second), KeyCorp (19), and Community Bank Systems Inc. (100).
