Paladino: Paterson is just playing politics

Republican gubernatorial hopeful Carl Paladino’s campaign put out a statement this morning attacking Gov. David Paterson’s plan to make it easy for legal immigrants to apply for pardons, in light of what the governor considers harsh federal immigration regulations.

“Governor Paterson, who has sworn to uphold the law, has decided to do so selectively by fighting deportation of immigrants with criminal records,” said Paladino. “He’s just politically pandering by playing the worst kind of ethnic politics. The Governor should spend his time focusing on how to get relief for New York taxpayers. Instead, he violates his oath of office by playing politics with immigration, further proving to New Yorkers that our pathetic Governor is no longer relevant.”

Paladino also released the below video, a follow-up to his challenge to Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to sign on to a lawsuit challenging federally-passed health care reform legislation. In it, Jennifer Bernstone (a Tea Party activist from central New York whose background is in theatre, she told me once on a bus) delivers petitions to the AG’s Albany office.

    it's just you.

Lots of us agree with some of Carl's position, but we know overall his simplistic solutions to political and social problems are unrealistic.

Even if he got elected governor he'd just end up having four press conferences every week (he plans on taking Friday's off apparently) during which he would call everyone names and spit and cuss at the reporters.

It would be fun for a week or two. But then the recall movement would pick up steam.

He's right, but i think it's common sense.

Hey atleast we know Carl has common sense.

You do realise that NYC, LA, San Fran, and many other major cities acrossed the US are safe havens for illegals right?

Get this, if your a NYC Employee, and you blow an illegal into INS, YOU lose your job. Even though you are working with in the law, and broke no laws, BECAUSE you told INS about an illegal, your ass gets canned. Period.
