Yes, it covers the spouse even when the employee passes.

And you don't hear Satish squawking on the Tom Bauerle show about it or mugging for the TV cameras either.

And what did Satish say? Town employees shouldn't get any more benefits than what the Town residents get!

Are you saying that Satish gets more then Town Residents??? You definately won't hear Bauerle downing Satish for any of the benefits that he is entitled to. After all, he is "King."

I think it has to be written down somewhere. I'm sure I will be getting more information on this.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Here he gets it for free for life. I'm not sure about his spouse, should he pass away before she does. With the State, it continues for the spouse.
Why is the town so much more generous on this than the state?

I guess I'll have to Present and create a Referendum to have these ludicrous benefits for life revoked!

One thing to keep in mind is that Satish is an employee with the State. In Amherst he is one of the Law makers. Same with the State. The benefits are different for law makers then employees.

I understand that. I mean, why does the town offer lifetime health insurance to some elected officials who are eligible when the state offers it also but requires them to pay 25 percent?

It seems like the town is more generous than the state -- weird, given how much deeper the state's pockets are than the town of Amherst.

    Tax and spend

The Reps are not tax and spend: they're borrow and spend.
Does anyone know if there is a referendumn process in the Town? What does it take in the way of signatures?

What do you want to have referendum on?

How about having a referendum to downsize the number of Town Board members from seven to five?
